Tweak DNS Servers
Navigate to Control Panel > Networking and Sharing
Center.
Click on the “Local Area Connection” link.
Click on “Properties” From the window that opens
Now under the networking tab double click on the TCP/IP
option to edit it.
Check “Use the following DNS server addresses “.
Enter “208.67.222.222” in the first box and
“208.67.220.220” in the second one and save the settings.

TCP Optimizer is a free tool to tweak your TCP/IP parameters and increase
your broadband bandwidth.

Firefox Add-ons
If you are a
Firefox user, you could use the Flash Block extension to improve your browsing
experience and speed up you BSNL Broadband connection. Get Flash Block
extension from here. You could also
make add-ons like Fast Fox and Ad block plus to
fasten Firefox.

Tweak
system.ini file (Windows XP and 512 MB+ recommended)
Run
MSINFO32.EXE from the Run command.
Navigate
to System Summary > Hardware Resources > IRQs.
Find
what is listed in your NIC and note down the IRQ.
Run
SYSEDIT.EXE from the Run command.
Expand
the system.ini file window.
Find
“386enh” which is located almost at the end.
Make
a blank line by pressing Enter key and type IRQ number=4096 (Replace “number”
with the IRQ number we found earlier.
Save
the file and restart your system.

Tweak using Local Group Policy Editor
Type “gpedit.msc” in Run and press enter.
Navigate to Local Computer Policy > Computer
Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > QoS Packet
Scheduler > Limit Reservable Bandwidth “.
Tick the ‘Enabled” box.
Change bandwidth limit to 0% and apply the changes and
restart your system.
